The University of Gothenburg is administrating four types of scholarships intended for fee-paying applicants, who applied for Master's Programmes at the University of Gothenburg.

The scholarship application deadline for the academic year 2016/2017 has passed.

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship is funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. It is intended for fee-paying applicants who have applied through universityadmissions.se for a Master's Programme offered by the University of Gothenburg, with a last application date of 15 January 2016.

  • The Study Scholarship covers the tuition fee for a Master’s Programme at the University of Gothenburg.

NEW: Scholarships from the Adlerbert Scholarship Foundation

When applying for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship, one can now also apply for additional scholarships. These scholarships are funded by the Adlerbert Scholarship Foundation and are intended for the same applicants as for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship.

The Adlerbert Scholarship Foundation announces three new types of scholarships;

  • A complementary scholarship to all the scholarship applicants who are granted the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship from the academic year 16/17, that covers accommodation expenses.
  • A scholarship that covers the tuition fee for a Master’s Programme at the University of Gothenburg and accommodation expenses.
  • A scholarship specifically intended for applicants who are citizens of an annual prioritized country from the OECD/DAC list, that covers the tuition fee for a Master’s Programme at the University of Gothenburg, living and accommodation expenses.

Scholarships are offered to applicants demonstrating a high level of academic performance. The selection process consists of an assessment made by academic and administrative staff at the University of Gothenburg.

If you have applied to the University of Gothenburg as your first choice, you will be given priority.

The selection process is administered during early spring, i.e. during the same period of time that the applications for programme studies are processed. Notifications are sent out via e-mail around the same time as the admission notifications are distributed.

Scholarship offers are only valid for studies starting in the semester for which you have applied. It is not possible to defer an offer.
