About the Course

This course examines the emerging powers Brazil, India, China, and South Africa, which with Russia make up the so-called BRICS. You learn about how these increasingly powerful countries have emerged within the regions that surround them; their social, cultural, economic and political characteristics as well as their positioning within this group and towards the world at large. The course also discusses the possible changes for the world order with the rise of these and other countries in the Global South.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: A completed core course of 15 credits in the second cycle within the field of global studies, or the equivalent competence.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies.

Tuition Fee

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 26 325 SEK
First payment: 26 325 SEK
