About the Course

The aim of the course is to provide in-depth knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry. The course covers several total syntheses with the focus mainly the following areas: Methods for functional group interconversion, Retrosynthetic analysis, Synthetic strategies including atom efficiency, environmental and health aspects. Protecting group chemistry. Selectivity and reactivity of reagents and functional groups. Modern methods for C-C bond and C-heteroatom bond formation.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Science with a minimum of 90 hec in chemistry, including 30 hec in organic chemistry, or equal qualifications. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 34 225 SEK
First payment: 34 225 SEK
