Key dates

Here we gather key dates for our admission periods.

All international students are advised to apply in the First admission round, but EU/EEA students or students that already have a residence permit, can apply in the Second admission round. Please note that not all programmes will be available in the Second admission round.

First admission round 

16 October 2018

As from 16 October the majority of the University's programmes are open for application on universityadmissions.se

15 January 2019

Application deadline

1 February 2019

Deadline for receipt of supporting academic documents (all applicants) and documentation of fee exempt status or receipt of application fee.

4-14 February 2019

Apply for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarships (UGSS) and University of Gothenburg Study Scholarships Syria (UGSS Syria).

4 April 2019

Notification of Selection Results (Master's level)

18 April 2019

Notification of Selection Results (Bachelor’s level)

13-17 May 2019

University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship and UGSS Syria offers will be be announced on our website. Each successful scholarship recipient also receives an official scholarship offer by email. 

31 May 2019

For those who need to pay tuition, the first instalment deadline is 31 May. How much you need to pay is stated on the programme description page. How to pay your tuition

Some of our programmes, mostly within Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, have different dates when it comes to the selection, admission and tuition fee payments.

Application opens

15 April 2019

Admission application deadline

7 May 2019

Deadline for receipt of documentation of fee exempt status or receipt of application fee.

20 June 2019

Deadline for receipt of supporting documents.

*If you are studying at an upper secondary school in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, or an International or European Baccalaureate programme, and your studies will not be completed until after 21 June, you have until 5 July to submit your upper secondary and IB/EB documentation. For IB-students please read more about submitting your results here.

Exceptions
