About the Course

In this course you will get a historical and philosophical perspective on the mathematical sciences. You will learn about the development of a selection of key concepts in mathematics. There will also be discussions about the role of mathematics in society and driving forces, processes and methods of research in mathematics. You will practice giving oral presentations in English and mathematical writing in English. The course is compulsory for a Master's degree in Mathematics or Mathematical statistics.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: To be eligible for the course it is necessary to be admitted to the two-year Master's Program in Mathematical Sciences, or to have completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematical statistics.

Selection: All eligible applicants who have applied before the deadline will be granted a place.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 14 875 SEK
First payment: 14 875 SEK
