About the Course

The thesis course includes the planning, executing, and presentation of an independent research project under the guidance of a supervisor. The course also requires the appropriate level of background literature research. Seminar sessions with other students may complement conferences with the supervisor during the course.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: A Bachelor´s degree with 180 credits in Earth Science that includes at least 30 credits in the appropriate subdiscipline. Students with an equivalent background can also be admitted to the course, with the student counsellors permission. Applicants must prove knowledge of English, by one of the following: TOEFL test result of at least 600 points (computerized 250 points, on Internet 100 points) or IELTS test result of at least 6.0, including at least 6.5 for the Writing. This requirement does not apply to students with a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from an English speaking University, or to students having passed English level B at Swedish/Nordic Upper Secondary School.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

First payment: 58 202 SEK
