About the Course

This course has two components. The first is an advanced course in literary theory (7,5 credits) which gives an up-to-date and deepened grasp of important literary-theoretical developments. The second is a literary elective course (7,5 credits) where the student is assigned an individual tutor and either reads an existing course from the department’s selection of advanced literary courses, or, together with the tutor, constructs an individualized course about a sharply defined area of English literature (e.g. a particular period, genre, theme, or authorship). The latter alternative is particularly useful for students who are planning to write a master thesis.
