About the Course

The course is structured around themes that are discussed weekly. In the beginning of the week you are given lectures covering a special theme and you will also be given time for self-studies. This is followed by the end of the week by one day with a team based learning (TBL) moment. The theme "immunological techniques" extends over two weeks and includes analysis and interpretation of data, literature studies and compilation of a written report. During the course the following themes are treated; congenital immunity and antigen presentation, maturation of lymphocytes and activation of T lymphocytes, humoral immunity, migration of lymphocytes- regulation and control, immunological techniques, infectious immunity and immunological memory, immunological tolerance, and autoimmunity and tumor immunology.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Successfully completed courses Cell Biology, BIO900,15 credits, Molecular Genetics, BIO905, 15 credits, Biological Form and Function, BIO910, 15 credits, Ecology and Evolution, BIO915, 15 credits, and Biodiversity and Systematics, BIO920, 15 credits plus completed Chemistry, 30 credits or other equivalent courses. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 29 750 SEK
First payment: 29 750 SEK
