About the Course

The course aims to give a deep understanding of eukaryotic molecular biology. It covers the eukaryotic cell cycle, intracellular signaling, the cytoskeleton, molecular chaperones and protein folding, cancer cell biology and nucleopore transport. The aim is to put these processes in the context of human diseases.

 

The course format is lectures, seminars, laboratory classes. Each student also completes an individual project that is presented both at a minisymposium and as a scientific review article.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Passed basic courses in Biology 75 credits (BIO900 Cell Biology, BIO905 Molecular Genetics, BIO910 Biological form and function, BIO915 Ecology and Evolution and BIO920 Biodiversity and Systematics). In addition you need at least one approved advanced level course in biology, 15 credits, in a relevant area. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 29 750 SEK
First payment: 29 750 SEK
