About the Course

Distributed systems are built by components/processes that cooperate using computer communication. The overall aim of the course is to provide an understanding of the challenges you are confronted with when developing such systems as well as the benefits gained from such systems. Thus this course serves as the basic for further study within the area.

Course Syllabus


Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Successfully completed courses corresponding to 120 credits within the subject Computer Science or equivalent. Within the 120 credits the following courses are required;
- DIT663 Computer Networks, 7.5 credits or DIT420 Computer Communication, 7.5 credits (or equivalent)
- DIT400 Operating systems, 7.5 credits or DIT390 Concurrent programming, 7.5 credits (or equivalent) Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 17 875 SEK
First payment: 17 875 SEK
