About the Course

This course is about how humans affect and are affected by the climate in the city. One special focus of the course looks at how to apply climate knowledge in urban planning and design. The course consists of lectures, exercises, field projects, guest lectures, supervision in the form of seminars related to the lectures and exercises and concluding literature seminar. Field projects consist of the collection of meteorological data. Emphasis is placed on design, implementation, analysis and reporting of field project and exercises.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: 120 credits completed courses in the different main areas of Natural Sciences of which 75 % with a grade of at least Pass. Student with the corresponding number of credits in Human Geography and Architecture or equivalent education may after evaluation, attend the course.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Tuition Fee

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 14 550 SEK
First payment: 14 550 SEK

Study Guidance

The course belongs to the geography master's program, but can be taken as an elective course.
