Altered biogeochemical cycles are at the core of global environmental change and mitigating these changes required a profound understanding of biogeochemical cycles. The course gives knowledge on fundamental biogeochemical processes as well as on global biogeochemical cycles. Thereby biogeochemistry will be addressed in an Earth System perspective, considering atmosphere, biosphere, lithosphere and hydrosphere.
