The course provides indepth knowledge of the complexity that relations between globalisation, development and urban environments involve from a north-south perspective.
A red thread running through the course regards processes (at different levels of scale) behind an uneven development within cities, between cities, and between urban and rural areas, as well as the consequences of this for people's formal and informal livelihood strategies and resource use. Gender aspects are in focus throughout the course.
Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Human Geography, Geography or equivalent from an internationally recognized university. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 6/English B from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.
Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.
