About the Course

The course offers an insight into the political and social situation in Latin America. In the first module we study political processes, political institutions and political cultures in Latin America. The second module focuses on urban and rural problems. Throughout the course we analyse poverty, ethnicity, violence, gender, religions, agricultural, food and environmental problems, and the various social movements which make Latin America a unique model of social change. The course uses different seminar techniques like role play and films discussions to create a dynamic interaction between you and the lecturers.

Requirements: General entrance requirements

Selection: Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %)

Tuition Fee

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 21 003 SEK
First payment: 21 003 SEK
