About the Course

The purpose of the course is to give a broad introduction to machine learning topics, with special focus on their application in Natural Language Processing.

Possible topics include:

  • Supervised learning
  • Automatic rule induction
  • Lightly supervised approaches
  • Learning theory
  • Learning with structure
  • Feature design for NLP applications.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Passing grade in each of the following four courses: Introduction to programming (7.5 credits) , Introduction to formal linguistics (7.5 credits), Natural language processing (15 credits) and Statistical Methods (7.5 credits) or achieved equivalent language technological skills and knowledge.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Tuition Fee

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 16 448 SEK
First payment: 16 448 SEK
