Fourier and Wavelet Analysis

About the Course

Fourier analysis (frequency analysis) is an invaluable tool in deterministic and statistical signal processing, and in the theory of partial differential equations. Today so-called wavelet transforms are used as a complement to traditional Fourier transforms. The purpose of the course is partly to show how these transforms are used in practice, for example in sampling signals, in the study of antennas, in geometrical optics, in computer tomography, in probability theory, and to describe the "fast" transforms which nowadays are done by computers in these circumstances.
