About the Course

This is a web-based course introducing Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The course consists of recorded lectures and practical GIS exercises using open source GIS software such as QGIS. After the course you will have theoretical knowledge about the concept of GIS and basic practical skills in the application of GIS techniques and tools which can be used in a wide range of research fields and topics.

 

Summer course 2019 information: 

If you have been admitted to the course you do not need to confirm your admittance, however if you do not intend to take the course please cancel your spot to allow someone on the reserve list a spot.   Registration will occur circa one week before the course begins, you will be sent information about the registration process from our department.  You may look at the open web page for the course already:

The webpage for the summer course will be sent to you along with the registration, once you are registered for the course you will have access to even more information.  The entire course, including the exam, is all via the website; you do not need to come to our department.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: General entrance requirements

Selection: Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %)
