About the Course

The course aims to provide knowledge about geographic information systems (GIS), to provide in-depth training in the practical use of GIS, and to provide in-depth knowledge of principles for different applications of GIS. The course is full-time and the focus is on urban environments. A major part of the course is devoted to practical exercises with GIS software. The course includes lectures, group work , laboratory work, project work and field trips.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Completed courses geographic information systems I (NGN180) and GIS II (NGN190) or Geographic information systems (NGN170 or GVS150) or KGG120. Students with equivalent education can after assessment be given admission to the course.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 14 550 SEK
First payment: 14 550 SEK

This course is part of the geography master's program, but can be taken as an elective course.
