About the Course

The course provides students a deeper and broader understanding of what open source (OS) includes and how it is used in geographic information technology. Furthermore, the course offers a greater understanding of the potential possibilities of using OS software. The course delves into some theoretical background, but it mainly focuses on practical sessions with applications based on open source. Some basic programming is included.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: A completed course in Geographic information systems 7,5 credits, with the grate at least Pass. Students with equivalent education can after evaluation be given admission to the course.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Tuition Fee

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 14 875 SEK
First payment: 14 875 SEK

EU/EEA citizens, Swedish residence permit holders and exchange students do not pay fees. More information on: http://www.universityadmissions.se

Study Guidance

This course is given every even year in the fall term.  It may be taken as an elective course and like all master's courses is taught in English.
