African Theology and Church Life

Master's level | 7.5 credits | Course code: RT2316

The course is not given as a stand-alone course this academic year, but can be included in the program/course package. For information contact the department.

About the Course

Global Christianity no longer has its centre in the so-called western world, but rather in the global south.  How does this affect church life and theology?  This course considers how Christianity developed in Africa, the role of mission, African church life, the interplay between religion and politics, and African perspectives on the shape of Christian theology. The situation in South Africa will receive special attention.
