Master's level | 7.5 credits | Course code: RT2318

The course is not given as a stand-alone course this academic year, but can be included in the program/course package. For information contact the department.

About the Course

What has the relation between the sciences and theology really been like in the course of Western history? And how might they be related today? In this course you will study one of the main questions of our time against the background of research in history, theory of science, and philosophy. We will deal both with the theoretical perspectives necessary to understand the relation between the sciences and theology, and the specific questions arising at their intersection. These may concern the relation between Christian anthropology and the biological sciences, creation theology and the development of contemporary cosmology, or the bearing of evolutionary psychology on ethical questions. Within the course, you will have an opportunity to particularly focus on a question you find to be of specific interest.
