About the Course

What is the gender of God?
What is a real man like in the Bible and which of the biblical men fulfil the criteria?
What roles are assigned to women and which biblical women break the norms?
Is there such a thing as equality in sexual relations in the Bible?
Welcome to explore these and other questions by means of analyses of texts from the Hebrew Bible and literature that discuss these questions in light of feminist theory and masculinity research.

Important information 2020-03-16 to applicants to the campus alternative regarding the corona pandemic : if teaching and examination on campus cannot be carried out in autumn 2020, the course will be given online instead.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Degree of Bachelor or completed courses of at least 180 credits at first cycle level, of which at least 90 credits with progression in some main field of study where it is included a bachelor's thesis of at least 15 credits. Qualified are also those that have equivalent foreign education or that have equivalent prior knowledge according to earlier study regulation. Applicants must prove knowledge of English: English 5/English A or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS. 15 HEC in biblical Hebrew is also required.

Selection: Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 225 credits.

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 10 750 SEK
First payment: 10 750 SEK
