About the Course

This is a freestanding course that includes a full time semester study in craft with specialization in Metal Art.

The course is for applicants with experience in metal craft at university level or equivalent work experience. The course supports development within the field. The course runs parallel to the second semester BFA Metal Art. During
the semester you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and understanding of materials and techniques, and to apply these in your own practice. Through Arts and Craft, you will explore different techniques
and expressions. You investigate the concept of material, body and space through different tasks and topics. You are expected to further develop your working methods and reflect on your own work.
In oral and written form, you will communicate your choice of methods. Included in the course are modules in visual studies, theory and history. Teaching format is lectures, supervised exercises, workshops and
tutorials.

The course is situated at HDK at Steneby in Dals Långed. The Academy of Design and Craft HDK Steneby is an international environment, therefore the instruction language is English.

Requirements and Selection

Requirements: Metal Art, introductory course, 30 credits, or equivalent

Selection: The selection is based on an assessment of submitted work samples. Information and instructions regarding the work samples can be found under each course at www.hdk.gu.se/english/education/courses. Submitting work samples is mandatory for a complete application.

Tuition Fee

Application fee: 900 SEK
Full course cost: 136 141 SEK
First payment: 136 141 SEK
