Governance and Control for Digital Capabilities

Master's level | 15 credits | Course code: TIA014

The course is not given as a stand-alone course this academic year, but can be included in the program/course package. For information contact the department.

About the Course

Digitalization brings new demands on how to control organizations. These requirements mean reassessment of what the contribution of the organization's technical assets are - from a strict focus on cost to a focus on innovation.

This new logic brings a number of areas into conflict given the the how we work today, and thus places new demands on leadership and management of organizations. The course is attacking this problem image by highlighting key managerial and financial issues with the aim to strengthen the student's ability to create opportunities for digital assets.

Through a combination of case studies and lectures, students work on tackling the central issues during the first half of the course. In the second half the students work practically with assessing and designing the control of an existing organization with challenges related to digitalization. The result of this work, will be concrete recommendations on how the organization should work to strengthen their digital skills.
