Plan your trip and arrival

Make sure to arrange your travels to Gothenburg well in advance. We encourage you to arrive during the official Arrival Day in order to benefit from our pick-up service and Welcome Programme.

Ways to travel to Gothenburg

Gothenburg lies on the west coast of Sweden with great connections to the rest of Europe. Rather than flying, consider travelling here more sustainably by taking the train, bus or ferry. If you choose to stay on the ground you will also see much more of the country on your journey here!

Travel by ferry: www.aferry.se

If you need to travel by aeroplane, and have a connecting flight, you can choose another mode of transportation for the last leg of your journey. For example, you can fly to Copenhagen and take the train from there to Gothenburg.

The closest airport to Gothenburg is Göteborg Landvetter Airport (GOT).

The airport shuttle can take you from Landvetter to the central bus station, also known as Nils Ericson Terminalen. For schedule and fares visit: www.flygbussarna.se/en/landvetter. You can purchase your tickets in advance on the website. Otherwise, it is possible to buy tickets at a vending machine at the airport or directly on the bus (most major credit cards will work). If you wish to purchase a ticket with cash, you can do so at the convenience store located in the check-in hall.
