Arrival Spring 2020

The Welcome Services at the University of Gothenburg would like to give a warm welcome to all new incoming exchange students, spring term 2019!

Here you can find useful information to prepare for your arrival.

All new tenants need to collect the keys to their student room.
Please read the information below for further details about where to pick up your keys.

Arrival Day: 18 January

We organise a pickup service from the airport, train station, bus and ferry terminals. Staff from the University and Student Buddies from the student unions will welcome you to Gothenburg and guide you through the day.

We recommend that you arrive on our Arrival Day, 18 January so that you can benefit from our pickup service and be able to move into your student accommodation the same day.

The bus will drive you to pick up your keys at our office where we are open between 9 am and 9 pm during the Arrival Day. After you have picked up your keys we will bring you to your accommodation.
You will be able to register your arrival details earliest in December. More information will come.

Please note that the first possible day to move in is 15 January, from noon.

Arrival outside Arrival Day

If you will arrive before or after our Arrival Day, you can collect your keys at the local SGS area office for your residence. For addresses and hours of the different SGS offices, check the Residence section.

Please contact a Student Buddy if you arrive outside SGS office hours. They can help you to collect your keys at the SGS office in advance on your behalf.

If you need to arrange an accommodation until the office opens the next day we recommend SGS Veckobostäder for short-term accommodation.

Transport from airports and the central station
If you do not arrive on 18 January, you need to arrange your transport.

Airport coaches will bring you from the Landvetter airport (GOT) to the central bus station, also known as Nils Ericson Terminalen. For schedules, click "Transport from/to the airports" on the right. You can buy tickets at the airport or when you get on the bus (card payment only).

For more information regarding Gothenburg’s public transport, including schedules and fares, check Västtrafik´s website.

Go to Residences for information regarding transport to the different residences.
